The Emakoko Accommodation
With only 10 rooms The Emakoko offers an exclusive and personal environment for our guests to enjoy. With five rooms art the main level and five built into the cliff face higher up. The climb to the upper rooms is not an easy one but the views from the top five rooms justify the effort as they are quite spectacular.
They have been careful with our room designs and interiors to make sure that everything is comfortable from, the huge, luxurious beds to the black-out curtains. Each room has its own private veranda.
The Emakoko Safari
Take a game drive into one of the most unique game parks in the world, Nairobi National Park or visit the community that border it. Otherwise an excursion into Nairobi to visit the David Sheldrick wildlife trust, the giraffe centre or the local shops may be more appealing. Finally for the more adventurous, a helicopter trip to the world famous Masai Mara, or up Mt. Kenya might be the better alternative.
The Emakoko Public Areas
An open, airy and informal environment has been created to allow our guests to escape from the pressures of everyday life. Whether you are enjoying an Emakoko cocktail in the viewing area or simply a coffee by the pool overlooking the river, relaxation is assured.
The Emakoko Boutique
The Emakoko boutique offers a wealth of treasures all locally crafted in Kenya. The shop is also one of the main Africa Adorned (Jewellry Ltd) outlets; Africa Adorned is the unique collection of original yet traditional timeless jewelry, designed by Lippa Wood and Joanna Garner and hand made in the Maasai Mara supporting the local communities.
The Emakoko Facilities
The Emakoko allows people to start and finish their safari in the wildlife environment they have traveled so far to enjoy. Within 15 minutes of clearing customs they can be viewing game in Nairobi National park. The only “transfer” delays likely to be encountered en route to or from The Emakoko are the natural pauses to watch a pride of lions or waiting for a Rhino or journey of Giraffe to cross the road.

The Emakoko Reviews
” The place is super duper awesome, with very obvious attention to small details and quality. Good job! The staff are very friendly and professionals. And the best part, is that the owner/manager of the place is always there, hands-on and on top of things. I recommend this place to all, you don’t have to look around. ” – hanipetro
” We stayed at the Emakoko for the first overnight of our two week safari, having flown in early morning. We were met at the airport by Elisaban, one of the guides who was delightful and extremely knowledgeable. We had a lovely game drive through the park, arriving for lunch which was delicious. After a couple of hours rest we were ready for an evening game drive and then back for a wonderful dinner on the terrace. Anthony was a delightful host, the staff were extremely friendly and attentive. Our accommodation was amazing and included the luxury of a bathtub. We can’t recommend it highly enough and would love to return one day. Many thanks for a great start to our holiday. ” – Russell B
” This is a lovely lodge run with great enthusiasm by Emma and Anton. We stayed here for 1 night plus a full day prior to our return to the UK. We had a lovely game drive in the evening the day of our arrival and had sundowners with 5 rhino. Also a lovely walk the evening of our departure. The food and the hospitality are wonderful. If time permits stay the extra night – it’s lovely to take a little time to chill by the pool and enjoy the views. Such a shame to only see it in the dark! ” – DophinJules
