Kandili Camp, seeks to recover the romantic spirit of the traditional safari giving guests the freedom to experience the African savanna naturally, at their own pace and according to their wishes, chats around a fire in the darkness of Maasai Mara nights, starlit bush dinners, walking or driving safaris at night among animals within our own private conservancy, listening and falling asleep to the music of the wildlife.
Kandili Camp is an intimate tented camp, designed to provide total comfort and the incredible sensation of being a part of the great African wilderness.
The camp offers 7 spacious tents (2 familiar triple tents and 5 twin/ king) all of them with en-suite bathroom, hot showers and solar electricity. They have been decorated in a warm modern-African style and include a private veranda from where our guests can enjoy wildlife viewing just seated in a comfortable sofa or deck chair. Kandili Camp also proposes 2 large luxury suites set in the best and quietest area of the camp and decorated by the finest handicrafts from the exotic island of Lamu. Each suite offers a large bedroom and a second room which can be either used as a living room or to accommodate additional guests making it the perfect family tent. En-suite bathroom, a private and romantic outdoor shower and a big veranda where our guests can enjoy intimate lunches and dinners served by a private butler complete this exclusive experience.
All of our tents are setting among scattered acacia trees overlooking the beautiful Olooloo escarpment and the endless plains of the Masai Mara national reserve which are the stage for one of the most spectacular wildlife shows on earth; the great annual migration of over a two million wildebeests and zebras.

Kandili Camp Maasai Culture
Kandili Camp where travelers can also learn more about the maasai people, proud shepherds and warriors, many of whom still retain their traditional nomadic lifestyle. We organize cultural lectures and visits to the nearest maasai village (manyatta) from which most our staff come.
They kindly open their houses for our guests to show the maasai way of life and their women welcome visitors with colorful dances and improvise a small market to sell maasai crafts. Kandili Camp donates the total income from these visits to the neighboring maasai community.

Kandili Camp Reviews
“I stayed two days in Kandili and I think was not enough. I left the camp feeling I could spent two more days in a such a special place. The tents are nice, charming and the most incredible is sleep hearing the animals around, like wildebeests and hyenas, the strong experience in nature. When I was looking for places in Maasai Mara, I saw the Kandili camp and I thought “oh jesus, it is very charming but is so wild to me, I can`t sleep with animals, spiders, whatever near me,” and now I feel was the best experience ever, so near to the essential, the open mind season in Maasai. If you live in big city like me, give yourself a chance to spent some days there, such a incredible experience.” – PatCordeiro
